Magnetotherapy
Magnet therapy is a physical treatment involving the application of a slow-variable magnetic field with a frequency of 0-50 or 60 Hz and a magnetic induction of 0.5 – 10 mT. It is a low-frequency magnetic field treatment.
Under the influence of a slow-variable magnetic field, ions in cells move, causing hyperpolarization of the cell membrane. The pulsating magnetic field has analgesic, sedative, anti-inflammatory, anti-edema effects. It causes better utilization of oxygen by the cell, increases metabolism and accelerates the healing processes of wounds and fractures.
The procedure is performed with special flat or coil-shaped applicators. During the procedure, the patient should sit or lie in such a way that the part of the body treated is inside the coil. Treatments can be performed through plaster, bandage, clothing and with metal implants – non-electronic.
Indications for treatment:
- osteoarthritis of the limbs and spine
- inflammation of joints and periarticular tissues
- post-traumatic conditions of the musculoskeletal system
- hard-to-heal wounds
- peripheral circulation disorders
- nerve inflammation
- osteoporosis
- metabolic disorders
- bronchitis and sinusitis
- ovarian inflammation
- ulcerations and trophic lesions of the lower extremities
Contraindications to the procedure:
- pregnancy
- cancer
- The period of exposure to ionizing radiation and the period of radiological examinations
- electronic implants
- active tuberculosis
- Acute bacterial and viral infections
- ringworm
- obstructive-thrombophlebitis
- susceptibility to bleeding
